SHA Analytics, LLC provides management consulting services to support infrastructure projects and programs. We are a certified small business based in Los Angeles, CA serving infrastructure clients in the local and national markets. We develop analytical frameworks to support decision-making under uncertainty, including risk assessments, benefit-cost analysis, financial analysis, evaluation of alternative delivery and P3 projects, and more. We are a boutique consulting firm providing niche decision support services on a variety of interesting large-scale infrastructure projects and programs from the evaluation and planning stages to design, bid, and construction. All team members will have the opportunity to work on various aspects of these interesting projects to expand their expertise and technical skills. We are a flat organization with zero bureaucracy with great PTO and 401K benefit plans.

 

Role

We are hiring a Consultant that is experienced, skilled, and efficient in building spreadsheet-based analytical tools and can assist with project cost and schedule risk studies, benefit cost studies, financial plans and project management plans for major infrastructure (mostly transportation) projects. Example of responsibilities include:

• Support developing spreadsheet-based tools for risk analysis, cost-benefit and life-cycle cost analysis, financial analysis, and business case

• Communicate with client project managers, construction managers, costs and schedule leads, and project control managers to collect and compile project data

• Compile, review, and analyze project data and interface with client and project teams on results

• Prepare technical reports, documenting input data, methodology, and results in text format and with graphic illustrations

• Prepare PowerPoint presentations and present results to clients as needed

• Attend and support risk workshops and client meetings

• Conduct research and literature reviews as needed

• Other project management and coordination tasks as needed

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+year work experience in Planning, Construction Management, Project Management, Project Controls, Engineering, Economics, Policy Analysis, or related fields with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Expertise and efficiency in Excel is critical. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical.

• Adept at working independently and within a team environment including the ability to interact with clients and consultants from other companies

• Proactive, self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented

• Able to handle confidential information

• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate on various projects in a small business environment

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction or need for sponsorship

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing complex spreadsheet-based tools and models, including VBA and pivot tables

• Familiarity with conducting sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo simulation concepts and software, such as Palisade @RISK

• Knowledge of project risk analysis and risk management techniques

• Knowledge of cost-benefit analysis concepts and techniques

• Knowledge of economic, statistical, and financial analysis

• Work experience on transportation projects in planning, design, and construction

 

Primary Location

• Los Angeles, with flexibility to work remotely from home

• Ability to meet Los Angeles based client sites as needed. 

 

Schedule

Hiring for a full-time (40 hours a week) position and a part-time (fixed 3 days per week) position
